Dementia Awareness Week at Hampden Hall

Kiddleydivey music entertainment came to Hampden hall on Wednesday and thrilled our residents with two sessions of interactive music making. Kiddleydivey specialise in engaging people living with Dementia and everyone had a wonderful afternoon! Staff at Hampden Hall who are Dementia Friends delivered a fact-filled presentation ahead of each of the Kiddleydivey music sessions for residents and their families. The presentations prompted further discussions about Dementia awareness and everyone learnt something new!

On Friday 19th May staff donned their pyjamas at work to raise awareness of one aspect of what it is like to live with dementia and have people look at you for not being dressed properly. Residents and relatives have been delighted to see the staff commitment to raising awareness and providing the best possible care for all.

In addition to our events this week for our residents and their families, we have also delivered training to staff as part of our ongoing commitment to develop a positive & proactive Dementia Workforce.
